The Dalmeny polling station was also a chance for the Dalmeny Kianga RFS brigade to recruit some much needed members while the volunteer firefighters held the traditional election sausage sizzle. Captain Greg Hill urged anyone interested in joining the brigade to stop by the station anytime.

Life went on in small town Far South Coast with the Tilba Growers Market taking place next door at Central Tilba, while the Narooma Devils rugby league teams were setting up to play on Bill Smyth Oval.
Down on Wagonga Inlet there was a catch-and-release Southern Bream Classic fishing tournament sharing the water with a fleet of around 30 surf skis and kayaks from Far South Coast Paddlers winter series event, many of the paddlers retiring to the Quarterdeck afterwards.
