The project began in 2012 with a Caring for Country Grant. More recently Bega Valley Shire Council's Community Environment Grant has kept the group supplied with plants, guards and stakes.
Far South Landcare Association (FSCLA) has administered the grant on behalf of Bermagui Dune Care, as well as providing advice.
Bermagui Dune Care coordinator Karen Joynes said it was very rewarding for the group to be able to see the plants growing so well, improving biodiversity and the habitat for native wildlife.
A total of over 800 native plants have been planted, across 23 species, she said.
“So far with the 2016/17 grant, we've planted 175 tubestock, and plus 31 plants that members have grown themselves, from 13 different species,” Ms Joynes said. “We've got about another 100 to go, so with FSCLA and Bega Valley Shire Council's help, our coastal environment will continue to improve at Cuttagee Point".
