The Narooma Men's Shed last Tuesday put the finishing touch of a Montague Arts & Crafts Society donation plaque on the Buddy Benches that they had made for the Narooma Public School.
The “Buddy Bench” is a place that students can sit if they feel bullied or sad and other students will go and comfort them if they see someone sitting on the benches.
Principal Paul Sweeney said student opinion was very positive about the three benches created in the Men's Shed workshop, after the Montague Art & Craft Society donated funds for the benches as a gift to the P&C.
“A good result all around!"
Colin Berry represented MACS at the unveiling of the plaques and Dick Nagle brought out the Men's Shed volunteers, who made the benches, to meet Principal Paul Sweeney and to fix the plaque on the main bench at the school.
The MACS members and Men’s Shed guys enjoyed meeting the kids who were happily using the benches during lunch playtime.
