A $320,000 upgrade, completed last year, has seen new and increased seating, additional check-in space, an accessible toilet and designated café space at the airport.
Moruya Sky Café is run by Davide Pergola, known for his popular Venetian Cafe in Batemans Bay, and offers commuters coffee and snacks as they embark on their journeys.
The café also services campers at the North Head Campground, selling milk, newspapers and magazines.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Divisional Manager of Property and Commercial Services Andrew Greenway hopes bike riders will also take advantage of the café now they can cycle on a dedicated off-road pathway from Broulee to the airport.
He said airport patronage continued to grow, with passenger numbers up 32 per cent in March compared to the same month the previous year.
“We’re lucky to have attracted a café of this calibre to serve great coffee to our growing number of passengers,” Mr Greenway said.
“With $118 fares to and from Sydney available on a dedicated Moruya-Sydney route, and now a wonderful café, there’s never been a better time to fly to and from Moruya.”
The Moruya Sky Café is open from 6.15am to 10.15am Monday to Saturday, with extended opening hours during summer.
They are currently offering a half-price coffee to those who have liked and shared their Facebook page until 1 June.
