A lot of rain had fallen and more was on its way so we were lucky to get this walk in. The creeks were running and much of the sand had been washed out to sea. Walk leader Davey McMillian had to change route as the track was flooded closer to Aragunnu.
We went as far as the Bunga Saddle, returned to the beach and walked to Goalen Head for lunch. This area wasn't burnt and is a refuge for wildlife, including large mobs of grey kangaroos, monitor lizards, sea eagles and other raptors.
Extensive ocean vista's north toward Bermagui and south onto Wapengo make its remote location special. We have targeted this area for a couple of walks this spring. You do not have to travel far and spend many dollars for wonderful outdoor experiences. Steve thanked Davey for leading this 8km walk in an area he has extensively rambled over and where he knows many of its "nooks and crannies".
